People interested in purchasing their first home are invited to attend a class sponsored by James City County next week.
The class covers topics that include personal finance, credit and credit scoring, qualifying and applying for a loan, choosing the right home, why a home inspection is important and what happens at a loan closing, according to a news release from the county.
Mortgage companies often require first-time homebuyers to complete a homebuyers class prior to any loans receiving approval. People who attend both classes — scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Law Enforcement Center — will receive a certificate of completion.
Space is limited for the classes. To register, call 259-5340 by Monday.
