As the last of the February snow begins to melt, Historic Triangle citizens can expect more wintry weather Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Wakefield is calling for freezing rain, sleet and snow as temperatures go from 67 degrees on Wednesday to 30 degrees by 4 p.m. Thursday.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. until midnight Thursday in York County, James City County and the city of Williamsburg.
The rain is supposed to start Wednesday night and turn into freezing rain by noon Thursday. After 3 p.m., the freezing rain is expected to turn into sleet, with temperatures dropping to below freezing in the afternoon.
Meteorologists say less than a half inch of sleet accumulation is possible, but the sleet will turn into snow before 9 p.m. Thursday.
The Historic Triangle is expected to get less than an inch of snow.
Temperatures will remain low until Saturday, when a high of 47 degrees is anticipated.
