Girl Tells Police She Was Raped in Grove
A 16-year-old girl told police she was raped by an acquaintance in Grove on Aug. 20.
Stephanie Williams-Ortery of the James City County Police Department said officers responded to the 100 block of Howard Drive at about 9:11 a.m. Aug. 21 after receiving a report of a sexual assault. The girl said the acquaintance touched her inappropriately and that she told him to stop.
The girl told police he then pushed her down on a couch face down, held her down and raped her, Williams-Ortery said. The girl said she told the man to stop and get off her numerous times and that he did not comply.
Eventually he stopped and ran out the door.
The investigation is ongoing, and nobody has been arrested.
Police Say Woman Tried to Bring Xanax, Methadone Into VPRJ
A 35-year-old woman is facing two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance after police say she tried to bring Xanax and methadone into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
Kimberly Sue Boyd was in the booking area of VPRJ, where inmates are searched prior to entering the jail. Boyd was being searched when a corrections officer noticed something in her mouth, Williams-Ortery said.
The corrections officer told her to spit it out, but she refused, Williams-Ortery said. The corrections officer eventually found a small package wrapped in tin foil in the right side of her mouth. That item was recovered, where the corrections officer found several pills believed to be Xanax and methadone, she said.
Boyd faces two felony counts of possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance.
