awardThe three points of the Historic Triangle have been honored for collaborating on the vision for the area’s future.

The Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association, and independent educational organization, has recognized the City of Williamsburg, James City and York counties with an outstanding planning project award for 2014.

The localities teamed up on the Historic Triangle Coordinated Comprehensive Plan Review. All three jurisdictions reviewed their comprehensive plans — a long-term plan for development used to guide decision-making — at the same time to foster group discussion on major planning issues.

For the effort, the group was presented with an award at the APA Virginia Annual Conference on July 22. Representing the planning staff for each of the localities in accepting the honor were Rodney Rhodes of the City of Williamsburg, Tammy Rosario of James City County and Tim Cross of York County.

York County Planner Earl Anderson also earned a President’s Outstanding Service Award at the event, in recognition of years of dedication as Vice President of Chapter Affairs for APA Virginia.
