James City County has released office closures for Presidents Day. The James City County Recreation Center gym and track will be closed due to repairs. JCC Presidents Day Closings
James City County offices and courts will be closed Monday for Presidents Day.
The James City County Recreation Center, James River Community Center, convenience centers, the garbage transfer station and libraries will be open.
JCC Recreation Center Gym and Track Closure
Repairs to the gym floor at the James City County Recreation Center will begin Feb. 18. The gym and walking track will be closed for approximately three weeks and are expected to reopen the week of March 11.
Repairs will include installing new flooring, sanding, line painting and floor finishing. The work area will be sealed to reduce fumes and dust from spreading throughout the center.

JCC HOA/Neighborhood Leadership Meeting Rescheduled
The Homeowner Association/neighborhood leadership meeting has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will take place at the Law Enforcement Center at 4600 Opportunity Way.
The meeting will be hosted by the James City County Board of Supervisors and County Administrator Robert Middaugh. Elected HOA board members have been invited to attend to provide feedback on the county’s budget as well as neighborhood issues and the future of a neighborhood leadership group.

VCE Announces Upcoming Programs
The Virginia Cooperative Extension’s James City County unit has released a list of upcoming programs and activities. The current programs include 4-H Pet Pals Program, Turf Love U, Junior Camp and others.

Eco Discovery Park Community Meeting
Eco Discovery Park is holding two community meetings and brainstorming sessions at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
A presentation about the progress and upgrades will be given, followed by a question-and-answer session. The brainstorming session will be for future exhibits planned for the park.
Eco Discovery Park is located at 2054 Jamestown Road across from the entrance to Jamestown Settlement.
Bluebirds in Our Gardens at Freedom Park
Shirley Devan, a certified Virginia Master Naturalist and Williamsburg Bird Club president will lead a workshop about bluebirds at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Freedom Park Interpretive Center. She will talk about habitats from season to season and how local groups monitor bluebirds. She will lead a walk around the area to look for bluebirds and to see nesting boxes.
