As long as James City County Supervisor Michael Hipple (Powhatan) does not break the law or talk to the King & Queen County man whose door he was accused of kicking down in March, two misdemeanor charges against him will be dropped in May 2015.

King & Queen County Commonwealth’s Attorney Charles Adkins said Hipple has already paid the man $400 in restitution. Hipple was charged with destruction of property valued at less than $1,000 and entering property with intent to damage in late March after he was accused of forcing his way into the man’s home, a friend of his wife’s from high school.

Because of the agreement that was reached in King & Queen County District Court, Hipple will not have to enter pleas to the charges, which are both misdemeanors.

A report from the King & Queen County Sheriff’s Office said Hipple forced his way into a home on Milbytown Road on March 26 and then engaged in a verbal altercation with his wife and his wife’s friend, both of whom were in the home.

The friend told deputies Hipple indicated he and his wife were having marital problems. Hipple repeatedly asked his wife “if this is what you want,” during the incident, according to the report. He also allegedly told the friend “you and me are not finished.”

The report said Hipple damaged a door at the home, kicked over a bucket of oil on the home’s front porch and spun his tires in the driveway and yard as he left the home, Chief Deputy W.R. Balderson told WYDaily.

Deputies received the call at 12:05 p.m. March 26, but Hipple was gone by the time they arrived 10 minutes later. The man told deputies Hipple arrived at his home around 11:30 a.m. A warrant was then issued for the two misdemeanor charges.

Hipple turned himself into the sheriff’s office later that night.
