This weekend is more than a break from a typical work week; it marks the start of Busch Gardens’ 2014 season.
Beginning Sunday, Busch Gardens will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the end of March. The park will open daily from April 4 through April 21 for the spring break season. The park will return being open daily starting May 23.
Busch Gardens’ opening day will include a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The Irish village will play host to a party where themed drinks will be available. The newest stars of Busch Gardens’ Celtic Fyre dance show will be meandering around the park, and Connor and Finn – two Irish Setter puppies set to appear in the show – will venture out to meet the public.
This season at Busch Gardens will mark the start of a new show in England’s Globe Theater, but it also marks several anniversaries of long-loved attractions.
London Rocks will open in the Globe later this spring, and the London-theme will eventually extend throughout the England village.
Land of the Dragons is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and is undergoing some upgrades, which include new paint, fans and shaded areas. To celebrate the anniversary, Busch Gardens is asking visitors to re-create their childhood photos taken in Land of the Dragons and to share the photos on the park’s Facebook. A park celebration is also scheduled for March 22.
Sesame Street Forest of Fun is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year with a birthday party scheduled April 4 through 6.
Apollo’s Chariot will celebrate its 15th anniversary later this spring, and the Food & Wine Festival will return May 23 through June 29. This year’s festival will include culinary offerings with a Caribbean theme.
