The James City County Board of Supervisors is seeking an applicant to fill the Stonehouse seat on the Planning Commission.
Applications are currently being accepted for the open Planning Commission seat. The selected applicant will serve through Jan. 31, 2015, alongside representatives from the county’s four other electoral districts and two at-large members.
The Stonehouse seat opened Tuesday when Richard Krapf was appointed to the Powhatan seat. Krapf could have filled the Stonehouse seat until his term ended in 2015, but he was redistricted to Powhatan in 2011 so he was also eligible to fill that seat.
The commission – empowered by state law – is tasked with preparing land-use and planning studies, preparing land development ordinances, reviewing and approving subdivision applications and advising the board on rezoning.
Interested applicants may obtain an application from the county’s website or by visiting the county administration office at 101-D Mounts Bay Road. For more information or to request an application by email, contact Teresa Fellows at 757-253-6609 or teresa.fellows@jamescitycountyva.gov.
