Anheuser Busch’s Williamsburg brewery will play host to the Budweiser Brewmaster Tour today.
As part of a 45-week nationwide journey, a mobile tour will take beer fans through a 10-minute sensory tour of Budweiser’s brewing operation, all set up in the Williamsburg brewery’s Admin Parking Lot at 7801 Pocahontas Trail from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today only. The tour includes a hot brewing zone and cold finishing zone and focuses on each of the beer’s five ingredients.
“Every Budweiser we brew is the result of passionate people who put time, care and skill into every step along the way,” said Brian Perkins, vice president, Budweiser, in a news release. “From farm to bottle, we do everything possible to ensure that the best-tasting, freshest Budweiser ends up in the hands of beer lovers everywhere. The Budweiser Brewmaster Tour provides a fantastic window into the intricacies and unique methods that give Budweiser its unparalleled smoothness, balance, and crisp, clean taste.”
Beer typically has four main ingredients – water, yeast, hops and barley – but Budweiser includes a fifth, which is used to give the beer crispness: rice.
Visitors on the tour will be able to observe the brewing process, fermentation, Beechwood aging and finishing. Anheuser-Busch ambassadors will be on hand to answer questions, provide beer samples and sell Budweiser merchandise.
“The Budweiser Brewmaster Tour offers visitors a unique sensory experience complete with a hot brewing zone and a cold finishing zone,” said Julia Mize, vice president of experiential marketing, Anheuser-Busch, in a release. “With the help of our brewing ambassadors, we’ve created a connection for beer drinkers between the beer in their hand and the history and heritage of Budweiser brewing.”
The Budweiser Brewmaster Tour was announced in October and will run through fall 2014.
