Four Locals Named to JYF Board of Directors

timthumbThree York County residents and one citizen of Williamsburg have been elected to the board of directors of the group that oversees the Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center.

The election of T.J. Cardwell of Williamsburg and Terry E. Hall, Brian K. Skinner and Alexis Swann of Yorktown to the board places them in an oversight position over the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. The foundation is a stage agency that operates the two living history museums.

Cardwell is a longtime employee of the U.S. Department of Energy who retired to Williamsburg. She is also on the board of directors for the Bruton Parish Endowment, the Muscarelle Museum of Art Foundation and the Governor’s Land Foundation.

Hall is the chief compliance officer and senior vice president of government affairs for Ferguson Enterprises in Newport News. He is a member the American, Virginia and Newport News associations, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Colonial Williamsburg National Advisory Council and the College of William & Mary Law School Foundation Board of Directors.

Skinner is the president of TowneBank’s operations in the Williamsburg area and the Peninsula. He is the chairman of the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula Board of Directors. He is also on the Hampton Roads Economic Development Authority, Children’s Health System, Greater Peninsula NOW and An Achievable Dream.

Swann is also involved in financial services. She is the Wells Fargo business banking manager for the eastern region of Virginia, and is the president of the peninsula market for the bank. She is on the Christopher Newport University School of Business Advisory board, the Newport News Police Foundation board and public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta.
