Paul’s Deli & Neighborhood Restaurant opens tonight in a freshly renovated space that features ample outdoor seating, a pair of long bars and more than a dozen tables and booths.
The New Town location — located at 4345 New Town Avenue — is an extension of owner George Tsipas’ two restaurants in the City of Williamsburg: Paul’s Deli and the College Delly, both on Scotland Street. The new restaurant is located in the space formerly occupied by the Green Leafe Café prior to its closure in December 2012.
The new restaurant had a soft opening earlier this week, though today marks its first official day open to the public.

The price range and many of the staple menu items from the Scotland Street locations will carry over to the new restaurant. Tsipas has renovated the interior, adding long granite bars and several tables along with a large outdoor seating area featuring fire pits.
Flat-panel televisions line the walls along with two large chalkboards where daily seasonal specials will be featured similar to the sandwich board sign used outside Paul’s Deli in Williamsburg.
Tsipas said he is excited about the new restaurant, which he spent more than two months renovating prior to Wednesday’s opening. Along with the bars, the restaurant offers ample seating at tables and along counters.
Unlike the two Williamsburg restaurants, which are open until 2 a.m. every day, the new restaurant will be open until 11 p.m. on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends.
The location of the new restaurant had been vacant since the Green Leafe shut its doors. In March 2013, the building was sold to Union First Market Bank at auction.
The Green Leafe Café operated a large banquet room on the building’s second floor, but that will not be part of Paul’s Deli and Neighborhood Restaurant.
